Year 8 and Year 9 Boys’ Football

Every Friday morning at 7:30am, more than 30 motivated Year 8 and 9 students turn up for football training. Their commitment has been excellent, with players pushing themselves through intense drills and showing an impressive work rate week after week.
Last Wednesday, nine Year 8 boys represented Highbury Grove in a tournament at Market Road. The team started with a 3–0 defeat and a 0–0 draw, before finding their rhythm with an emphatic 6–0 victory against one of the stronger sides in the competition. It was clear that the boys simply needed time to warm up, and once they did, they showed their quality in style.
The progress in training is already paying off, and with this level of dedication, the squad looks set for an exciting season ahead.
