We ensure that all of our students from Years 7-13 have a number of opportunities to engage with providers of a variety of alternative pathways available to them post 16. This complies with the school’s legal requirements under Section 42B of the Education Act 1997 (the Baker Clause) and the updated Provider Access Legislation introduced in January 2023, which requires schools to provide opportunities for pupils to learn about technical education qualifications and apprenticeships.
As part of our careers programme Students in Years 7-13 will be given opportunities to find out about the full range of education and training options available through.
- Careers and apprenticeship/T Level Fairs
- work experience placements, work placement visits
- 1:1 careers guidance interviews
- Assemblies and visiting speakers,
- PSHCE lessons
- A progression week in year 12 (CV workshops/assessment centres and interview preparation)
