Summer Music Concert
Published: Mon 21 July 2025The Highbury Grove Summer Concert was a tremendous success, featuring outstanding performances from a diverse group of talented young musicians. A standout moment was the debut of our new Year 7 School of Rock band, who rocked the stage with their rendition of ‘Clint Eastwood’ by Gorillaz. The Highbury Five returned with their sophomore performance, delivering an energetic version of the Spice Girls’ classic ‘Wannabe.’
We were also treated to impressive piano solos from some of our most ambitious and gifted students: Lucas (Year 7), Sonny (Year 8), and Zac (Year 9), each showcasing remarkable skill and dedication. A particularly special highlight was the revival of the historic “Young Musician of the Year” award, which has not been presented for several years. This year, it was proudly awarded to Hudson and Emre from Year 7, two exceptional students who have consistently demonstrated passion, commitment, and exemplary behaviour throughout the year. The evening was a fantastic celebration of musical talent, with overwhelmingly positive feedback from students, staff, and parents alike. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been unwavering in their support.
