Sculpture in the City
Published: Sun 3 November 2024
Each year Highbury Grove takes part in Sculpture in the City, a fantastic programme run by Urban Learners. The aims are to introduce young people to the relationship between public space, art and architecture. What better way to observe a city, than to make drawings from the 42nd floor of the Cheese Grater, followed by a tour of a selection of the 25 sculptures that make up the exhibition in and around London’s skyscrapers? As budding young designers, each student created their own scaled interpretation of a sculpture to place in St. Helen’s Square. Watch out for workshop Day 2, where we will bring the designs to life as real, 3D sculptures.
