Spring Concert

The Spring Concert was a glorious showcase of the wide range of musical ability at Highbury Grove. The theme of this concert was film music, and opening the grand show was our brass ensemble performing the 20th Century Fox theme, making the audience feel as though they were truly at the cinema. There were amazing performances from all of the Music Specialist School Orchestras, with Year 9, in particular, taking it up a notch for this concert with their fantastic rendition of the James Bond theme. The School of Rock bands were a highlight as always, especially the Year 8 band alongside Hudson in Year 7, who delivered an outstanding performance of ‘Double Life’ by Pharrell Williams (featured in Despicable Me 4).

On a sadder note, this concert also marked the final opportunity for our Year 11 students to perform before beginning their GCSE examinations after the Easter break. Each Year 11 was presented with an emerald treble clef as a token of their long-standing commitment and energy within our ever-growing and improving music department.

Thank you to all parents, staff, and students who came along to support—it was an ideal opportunity for our community to come together in the name of music.
