Remembrance Day 2017

On Friday 10 November the school gathered in the hall for the annual Remembrance Day assemblies; Aqua and Ventus during period 1 and Ignis and Terra during period 2.

Ms Lyall led the assemblies, ably assisted by two Sixth Form students, Iole and Elliott, who told the story of a young soldier who died in the war. The music performances started with Nikiri (Year 10) playing Chopin’s Nocturne No. 2 in E flat major. Nikiri’s performance was beautiful and moving and the audience were extremely focused throughout. Gabe (Year 13) took on the traditional role of playing The Last Post. Performing, unaccompanied, to the entire school at such an important occasion is no easy task and Gabe’s performance was a fitting part of the assembly.
